Claire to be a big sister

It's official: we will be adding to the family! Gretchen is pregnant with Hatton kid #2. She's due on March 9th and we are planning to have it be a surprise (the gender that is). Gretchen is feeling generally crappy, but still better than she did with Claire. I am busy gaining "sympathy weight", just to be helpful.

Clare was inspired by Anthony Bourdain's visit to a Malaysian Hindu temple on "No Reservations" to strike a pose. She has been learning some "kiddie-yoga" at preschool. Note the third eye of Shiva, made out of watercolor.

Claire's surgery a success

Claire had her Atrial Septal Defect closed on Thursday using an Amplatzer Septal Occluder device. Other than a little bruising on her groin where they put in the catheter, she's doing just fine. The whole process just took a couple of hours and she went home the same day.

The doctors have told us that we can expect Claire to have increased energy. We're hoping they are wrong.
