I sneezed in the car today

Me: "aAAACHOO"
Claire: "Bless You"
Me: "Thank you"
Claire: "I said 'bless you' daddy."
Me: "Thank you for saying 'bless me'"
Claire: "Not 'Bless Me', 'Bless YOU'"
Me: "Sorry... 'Bless YOU"
Claire: "I didn't sneeze!"

If it's too loud, you're too old

Friends Angela and Michael invited me to see Thievery Corporation at the Roseland Theatre. I've been listening to TC for a couple of years and they are great at downtempo loungey electronica with a world flavor. Last night was basically a much louder version of the music on the cds. They put on a lively show which included several percussionists, trumpeters, bongos and a sitar.
They played most of their older, more familiar stuff early on, so when the volume reached ear-splitting levels later in the set I didn't feel too guilty about leaving. Besides, it was almost 10 o'clock, which is WAAAAY past my bedtime.

How does your garden grow?

Gretchen has turned me into a gardener. I spent last weekend building some raised beds for a vegetable garden. I spent a couple of hours on Mothers Day filling them with 2 yards of dirt.
I know I'm a gardener because I felt a visceral sadness when I looked out to find that one of our beautiful tall flowers had been broken off by the wind and rain we had yesterday. We're hoping that we will have some fresh veggies this summer. We're also hoping that having a more established garden will make the new house feel more homey.
